He has invited artists sharing his taste for whimsy and humor to collaborate with his company since 2012. Often, people pretend to chance upon a person or unbelievable but inspiring documents, which then becomes the material for a show. Maillard has obstinately explored fields like science-fiction, oral transmission, songs with strong lyrics, stand-up, whose codes and techniques he doesn\u2019t necessarily know. He likes to think of himself as a professional dilettante. He was awarded a Performing Arts prize in Switzerland in 2021. He sometimes acts in other people\u2019s productions, and writes for other artists; he has never directed another artist\u2019s show, but he plans to. Souvent, on invente une supercherie plus ou moins bien ficel\u00e9e consistant \u00e0 pr\u00e9tendre \u00eatre tomb\u00e9 par hasard sur une personne ou des documents assez invraisemblables mais particuli\u00e8rement inspirants, qui sont devenus la mati\u00e8re premi\u00e8re du spectacle. D\u00e8s le d\u00e9but, Jo\u00ebl s\u2019est obstin\u00e9 \u00e0 explorer des champs (la science-fiction, la transmission orale, la chanson \u00e0 texte, le stand-up, etc.) dont il ne ma\u00eetrise ni les techniques ni les codes. Il aime se dire qu\u2019il professionnalise son dilettantisme. Cependant, en 2021, il re\u00e7oit l\u2019un des Prix suisse des arts de la sc\u00e8ne. Il lui arrive d\u2019\u00eatre acteur pour d\u2019autres, et d\u2019\u00e9crire pour d\u2019autres. Il n\u2019a jamais mis en sc\u00e8ne le texte de quelqu\u2019un d\u2019autre ; \u00e7a viendra.
