In 2010, she wrote <em>Trop courte des jambes,<\/em> her first play which won an award for best dramatic play in M\u00fchlheim in 2013; that same year, she was voted young author of the year by Theater heute Magazine. Her plays were performed in Zurich\u2019s Schauspielhaus, Cologne\u2019s Schauspiel, Leipzig\u2019s Schauspiel, Sankt Gallen Theatre or Berlin\u2019s Volksb\u00fchne.\u00a0Brunner was a guest professor in the Deutsches Literaturinstitut Leipzig for the 2020\/21 season and she teaches in the Bienne Literary Institute. She is part of the dramatic writers collective <em>Institut f\u00fcr chauvinistische Weiterbildung,\u00a0and she regularly writes essays for newspapers while performing in many festivals with musician <\/em>Sophie Aeberli, with whom she forms the Loretta Shapiro duet.
