Born in Bratislava, Olivia Csiky Trnka grew up in Switzerland. After getting an MA in Art History in Lausanne and training in dramaturgy and staging in HESTR, she has worked as an actress, director and playwright. With her company, Full PETAL Machine, she continues her investigations on the Sublime to generate experiences which flesh out possible futures for our society. Her pieces OPERA OBSCURA, Zombie Zombie, Demolition Party, Protocole V.A.L.E.N.T.I.N.A (which received a grant from Observatoire de l’Espace-CNES), Come To Me, Paupière Train Fantôme alternate between theatre, video installations and performances. Csiky Trnka also writes poetry; she published Je ne crois pas aux fantômes mais mon jardin en est plein, et ma mémoire et mon cœur, inspired from Demolition Party. Charger les frondaisons ! is a spoken concert produced for Festival Antigel; it’s been adapted into a short animation film and received several prizes in festivals like Socchi’s Best Experimental Movie in 2021. She is currently working on a cinema adaptation of Demolition Party.
