Fatna Djahra trained in stage performance in the Circus Arts school « Sans Filet » in Brussels as well as in International Theatre academies such as Jacques Lecoq in Paris and Philippe Gaulier in London. In 1997, she discovered puppeteering in the Geneva Puppet Theatre, where she still performs. Then, after multiple experiences throughout the range of performing arts, she founded Théâtre l’Articule in 2010. Her initial goal lays down the bases of her objective and her commitment: to work on stagecraft and dramaturgy, and on a visual dimension which is at once dramatic, poetic and includes puppeteering in order to give young audience members and adults a real place as spectators, to be considered and respected as such. The world of puppeteering is vast and joyful. Research in this field is endless. Enriching our language, our imagination, cultivating our pleasure and constantly seeking, creating, developing new forms while keeping in mind anything is possible, is the company’s gleeful ethos.
