Mélina Martin

Born in Lausanne, with Swiss and Greek origins, Mélina Martin first trained as a dancer in Dance Area – Geneva before she joined La Manufacture – Haute école des arts de la scène in Lausanne in 2013. She met various people who have been very significant in her career while she was training there, particularly director Oscar Gomez Matta. After graduating, she performed and collaborated with many directors like Christiane Jatahy, Anna Lemonaki, Romeo Castellucci, Jean-Daniel Piguet, Adina Secretan, Karelle Ménine, Maxine Reys and François-Xavier Rouyer. She joined the CCC collective and participated in the creation of original pieces outside traditional theatre venues. Her project Opα, which won the 2nd PREMIO prize in 2107, was created in l’Arsenic in 2018 and is currently touring; it was part of the 2021 edition of Séléction suisse en Avignon. Mélina was also associated artist in l’Abri in Geneva during the 2019-2020 season.
