Perrine Valli

Perrine Valli is a French and Swiss artist who trained in the Lyon Conservatory (CNR), the Toulouse CDC and London Contemporary Dance School. She has worked as a dancer with Estelle Héritier and Cindy Van Acker and she created her own company when she was 25. She was a resident artist in Mains d’Oeuvres, and she won first prize in the 2007 Masdanza competition, and was given a research residency in 2009 with CulturesFrance « Villa Médicis Hors les murs » in Tokyo. Her repertory now has 22 pieces, which have been performed in many venues in France (Théâtre de la Ville, Festival Faits d’Hiver, Maison de la Danse de Lyon…), Switzerland (Théâtre de Vidy, ADC-Genève, Forum Meyrin…), Japan (Institut franco-japonais, TPAM, Yokohama Dance Collection), Spain (Mercat de les Flors, Teatro Cicca, Teatros del Canal), Belgium (Budascoop, Halles de Schaerbeek, Brigittines), the Netherlands (Melkweg), Germany (Tanz im August festival), Russia (TsEKH), Australia (Melbourne Festival), Abu Dhabi (Abu Dhabi Art), and Brazil (Dança em Trânsito). Sexuality is a central topic in her choreographic research, like the articulation between narration and abstraction. Valli is fascinated with the body and the brain, and she trained as a sexologist in addition to having a dance career; she is now a coach specializing in neuroscience and an Ericksonian hypnosis master.
