Born in 1985 in Lausanne, Trân Tran is a pluridisciplinary artist who holds a diploma in visual arts from Lausanne’s École Cantonale d’Arts (ECAL). After doing theatre improv for eight years, they have worked with non-professional company Dossier K from 2005 to 2017. They are interested in physicality and trained in contemporary dance from 2014 onward. In 2016, they created their first 4-hour dance piece, I wanna dance with somebody, for the collective exhibit aequum, in the Kugler foundry. In 2017, they presented Xin Chào! (Bonjour!) in the Quarts d’Heure festival in Théâtre Sévelin 36, a piece which was subsequently selected for the nomad festival Tanzfaktor 2018 and programmed in the Geneva Comédie as well as the Fête de la Musique in Geneva. They created HERE & NOW for far° festival Nyon in August 2018, and the piece was part of the July 2019 Sélection suisse en Avignon for the OFF festival as well as the Swiss selection in Edinburgh in February 2022. The piece also toured in Paris, London, Manchester and in Luxemburg.
