Annina Mosimann

Annina Mosimann is a visual artist, performer and puppeteer who is particularly inspired by materials and objects. Her piece Bestiarium is a show that relies on sound, visuals and fantasy in every sense. From a simple wooden box, her entire fiction unfolds, giving flesh to a house peopled with all sorts of strong non-human presences – material, animal – which coexist under the same roof as they do in the young artist’s head. At the center of the piece, hands and feet are working in a spectacular disassociation of gestures in which Mosimann uses her entire body to animate the space. Hidden in the box, giving life to each of its floors, she manipulates objects and sounds as well as our gazes as she maliciously liberates our imagination. Everything becomes possible, as in surrealist pieces, everything changes and shifts: dream and reality blend together, as do the strange and the familiar, the unconscious and our certainties. It is therefore no surprise to learn that Mosimann, born in 1991 in Berne, has previously worked with artists like Nicole Mossoux, Renaud Herbin or Elise Vigneron. Bestiarium, which is for young children and adults alike, has been awarded the PREMIO Swiss prize which encourages young talents.
